My peacock feather is made in three sizes, and there is a deceptive amount of work in such a visually simple idea. The vivid turquoise comes from inducing and accelerating the natural verdigris which the copper attains after years of weathering.

Because of the fine wire, the completed work is quite fragile, and needs to be sheltered from impact damage. If the wires are accidentally bent they can be bent back, but it’s not as easy as it might look to get it right.
