I have made various stags, grazing, rubbing the velvet from their antlers on a tree, or in rutting combat; this one is alert, searching his surroundings for any cause for alarm, whilst the doe grazes. They are such magnificent creatures – Britain’s largest remaining wild animals.
This pair were my first, made for a commission in 2003, and described in an article in “The Times” homes and garden section in 2004.
Stag £5,750; doe £4,950.
